How to Send a Prayer to the Western Wall from the Philippines

You do not have to travel to Jerusalem to place a prayer in the Western Wall. Here is how it works, step by step, and how you can see with your own eyes that your prayer was really placed.

What is the Western Wall?

The Western Wall (also called the Kotel or the Wailing Wall) is an ancient wall in the Old City of Jerusalem. For hundreds of years, people from every country and every faith have come to pray there and to place small written prayers between its stones. Pope John Paul II placed a prayer there in the year 2000, and many Christian pilgrims do the same when they visit the Holy Land.

Can I send a prayer if I cannot travel?

Yes. Many Filipino families and OFWs working in the Gulf, Hong Kong, Singapore or Canada cannot travel to Jerusalem. You can send your prayer, and someone in Jerusalem will write it and place it in the Wall for you.

How it works with Yehuda Jerusalem

  1. Write your prayer. Send the name or the words you want carried — for yourself, for your family, or for someone who is sick or far away. Plain, clear writing is best.
  2. We write it by hand. Your note is written by hand on paper in Jerusalem.
  3. We place it in the Wall. We visit the Western Wall on set days every week (Sundays and Wednesdays) and place the notes by hand between the stones. It is not instant, so please allow a few days.
  4. You receive the proof. We send you a photo or a short video of your prayer at the Wall, directly to your WhatsApp.

Why photo or video proof matters

When something is sacred to you, you want to know it really happened. With a photo or video you can see your own note at the Wall — and you can share it with your family back home.

What happens to the notes after they are placed?

The notes stay in the Wall. Twice a year, before Passover and before the Jewish New Year, the notes are collected by the Wall’s caretakers and respectfully buried on the Mount of Olives — they are never thrown away.

Can I write my prayer in Tagalog or another language?

Yes. You can send your prayer in any language. Please write clearly, without emojis or symbols, so it can be copied neatly by hand.

How long does it take?

We place notes on Sundays and Wednesdays. After your order, your prayer is placed on the next visit day, and you receive your photo or video soon after.
